vacation packages & aerial map guide to Disneyland,
Anaheim,
Los Angeles, California, USA.
There are many hotels that claim to be 'next
door' to Disneyland, or even 'just a block away', but if they are not near the
entrance then it's a LOT of extra walking that you just don't need on your day/s
at the park - especially the walk home!!
We have compiled a list of the
closest hotels, from budget to luxury, that are within close walking distance to Disneyland
and California Adventure theme park entrances.

Why
stay close?
The closer you can stay to the Disneyland Anaheim
theme park's front gates the more advantageous it is for you!
Here are just some reasons for staying
in a hotel near Disneyland Resort:
-
Take a Break
Disneyland is often crowded during early afternoon. It's
at this time we recommend
you leave for a break, after a mornings worth of shorter queues for attractions, and come back later in the day when the crowds start to
disperse. Having your hotel close by makes it easy to pop in and out of
Disneyland without driving, a long walk, or having to catch shuttle busses
to your accommodation.
-
Early Mornings
It's recommended you get to the front gates early to beat
the queues of later in the day. The closer you are to the front gates the later you can get out of bed
and still arrive early!
-
Late Nights
After a full day of Disneyland magic, you don't want to have to
walk forever to get to your accommodation - just when you're at your weakest.
-
In your own
time
Yes, there are shuttle busses, but walking is
the simplest method to return to your accommodation without having to wait
for one to turn up, and then make all its stops on its route. If you are
too tired to walk the short distance to a close hotel and choose to catch
a shuttle buss, you'll be one of the first off!
-
Less Cost
It costs several dollars to park a car. if you're next door then you can
walk. If you need to hire a car for your holiday then these are days you
don't need to hire it for, saving more money.
-
Shoppers
We recommended you do your shopping in the middle of the
day. At closing time the Disneyland shops are packed. Either they didn't
want to carry purchases around all day or forgot to buy a souvenir for
little Johnny back home. If you plan to leave during the busy period in
the middle of the day, buy your souvenirs then, and take them back to your hotel and drop them off.
The closer your hotel, the less distance you have to carry them too.
-
The Atmosphere
The closer you stay to Disneyland the bigger the fireworks
look, the more music you can hear from parades and the more
attractions you can see from your hotel. It's not
everyday you can get out of bed, walk outside and say, "Oh look, Disneyland
is literally over the road from me!" It adds that little extra when
you're not in the park.
|
How
long should I visit?
The number of days you spend at
and around Disneyland usually depends on your holiday's time, budget and
interests. Here's just some of what's available in or from the Disneyland
area:
| Day 1 |
Disneyland |
With over 60 attractions you won't see it
all in one day. If you only have one day then Disneyland is the stop you
must do. [Discount
Tickets] |
| Day 2 |
California
Adventure |
IF you have 2 days, spend the second in
California Adventure. The new theme park directly outside the
entrance of Disneyland with more of a carnival / thrill ride focus than Disneyland's
focus on story telling and effects. |
| Day 3 |
Universal
Studios |
A third day in the area may be well spent
at Universal Studios - another must see theme park with A grade
attractions and movie sets you'll have seen on the big screen. [Discount
Tickets] |
| Day 4 |
Finish
off Disneyland |
If you have a fourth day in the area,
you'll probably want to go back to Disneyland and do the attractions you missed and re ride those
favourite attractions. |
| Day 5+

Disney Hotel or Non-Disney
Hotel?
Benefits of staying in
an official Disney Disneyland Hotel
-
Never loose the sense of being in that 'Disney Atmosphere' even when back at your hotel room.
-
Plenty of Disney themed restaurants and
shops throughout the Disney hotels.
-
Get your Disneyland souvenir purchases
delivered to your Disneyland hotel.
-
Enjoy special amenities like a health club,
arcade as well as bonus entertainment including musicians and the Fantasy
Waters Show.
-
Catch the monorail to and from the park
making mid-day breaks easy to take.
-
Disney hotels have the best Pools! They are usually
very large, sometimes
there's more than one and often they are teamed in Disney's style, making them the
best by far.
-
See the Disney Hotels here.
Benefits of staying in
a non-Disney Hotel
-
Disney hotel room prices are generally much, much
more expensive than a non-Disney Hotel.
Multiply this by the number of day's you need to stay to visit all the
theme parks, a non-Disney hotel will save you money.
-
It's a chance to escape from that Disney
fantasy and get back to reality - if you really want to.
-
Some of the non-Disney hotels offer free
continental breakfast which can save you a little time and money.
In the end, it all depends on
personal
preferences and budget. If you can afford it, stay in a Disney Hotel, if you
can't, save some money and stay in a non-Disney hotel and you'll still have a
ball. Remember, you're only sleeping in your Hotel room, you're living in
Disneyland!
