Disneyland Engagements
how where and when.

It is because of the sheer magic in the air at Disneyland that many (many) people become engaged inside the park. And why not, it is the "Happiest Pace On Earth".

So where’s the best place to pop that life changing question? You want to make it special, she (or he) will certainly be wishing for that dream engagement so here’s some tips on how to make a proposal at Disneyland more than just that.

Timing:

  1. Be sure.
You don’t want to make Disneyland memorable for the wrong reasons so have a fair idea that she will in fact say yes.
  2. Visit during off peak season
Unless you are a couple that enjoy the atmosphere of busy crowds I suggest you visit during a low attendance day where you can have the park to yourself.
  3. Night magic
at night Disneyland atmosphere in Disneyland turns alive with romance
  4. Christmas bonus
During Christmas nights there are many Christmas lights added to the skyline, there’s snow falls and of course a huge twinkling Christmas tree. There’s also the added bonus of the Christmas cheer even outside Disneyland.

Locations:

  1. Castle
The most obvious, trademark place is on the bridge right in front of the castle. Especially at night when it's all lit up and you've had a magical day together.
  2. Snow
During Christmas evenings near one of the snow fall locations (check your park map)
  3. Fireworks
During the fireworks shows over the castle is a fantastic spot.
  4. Splash down
Ask her just as you peak up the top of splash mountain where she doesn’t have time to answer before you hit the bottom. If you’re lucky you’ll even get a photo of your partner with a shocked look on their face to capture the moment.
  5. Round and round
The carousel is a popular place for proposals but for an adventurous woman you could try the teacups?
  6. Make a wish
@ Snow White's Wishing Well with a little spiel something like "let's make a wish"...(pretend to make your wish then)... "will you marry me?".
  7. Favourites
Sound out their favourite attraction and look for a neat spot near it.
  8. Night shows
As well as the fireworks, before during or after one of the night shows (i.e. Fantasmic).
  9. Restaurants
The restaurant you drift past inside the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction, Blue Bayou, is moon lit all day and is a very romantic setting. You will need to make reservations early in the day to eat there.
  10. Cruising
There are always Disney Cruises if you want to spend a bit more for an even more magical atmosphere and still keep that Disney touch.

More Tips:

  1. Smile
Although rides like Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion are very dark, there are many infrared cameras that see in the dark that will see all that happens on your journey.
  2. Help
Disneyland employees are there to make you happy so asking them to so something for you, in aid of making the event memorable/a surprise is certainly on the cards, as long as it’s not too unreasonable of course.
