Disneyland.
Been there, done that?
Ideas for the frequent, experienced
Disney theme park goer.
So you’ve practically grown up in Disneyland.
Visited so many time you can’t count them even if you tried. After so many
hours inside this magic kingdom everything starts to become the norm and
although still wondrously unique and the best place in the world you are
looking for new thrills inside the park, innovative ideas and fresh
experiences. Well this page is designed for people like you, to help keep that
magic alive. If you have any additions I’m glad to review and add theme
here.
- Take a new friend
Touring Disneyland alone is never as enriching as taking a
friend to experience everything with you. Taking someone who's never been
before is highly recommended as you can watch them though the day and their
excitement of each attractions maiden 'sitting'.
Some people that you might take with you are:
- Young family members (especially
children over the age of 10)
- Older members (take your grand
parents)
- School friends (great to catch
up and chat in line)
- Work colleagues (come on
employers, show some heart)
- Girlfriends / Boyfriends
(see our romance section)
"...I have been to Disneyland about 20 times, but
last year was the first time my girlfriend has been there. It makes
the experience 100 times better to see someone who has not been there
before..."
- The less fortunate
Disneyland is out of many peoples reach due to the coast
factor (and sometimes time/distance), especially if you live in a
Disneyland-less country where the airfare is a life's wages. If you are in
the position to take someone who cant afford it, do it and see how rewarding
it is for all involved.
- World of Disney
Visit other Disney parks throughout the world and see the
similarities and differences of each world Disney park
- Movie watch
Watch every movie represented by an attraction at Disneyland
and then ride the attraction as soon as you can after viewing it giving you
a stronger appreciation of both the attraction and the movie and how they
relate. (see a list here)
- Tick it
Go on / visit every possible attraction, eat something from
every possible food vender/shop/restaurant and buy something form every
souvenir store. Tick them off your pack map.
- Signatures
Not only collect character signatures but collect cast
members signatures and get an appreciation of how many people really do work
at Disneyland.

- Great race
Follow the task below or set you own.
- Power rider: Complete the most
attractions in 1 day
- Let's do that again: Compleat
the most number of 'sittings' of a single attraction in 1 day
(Note: It may be hazardous to your health to try this on It's a small
World)
- Circuits: time yourself for the
completion of the following attractions, (no pushing in line)
- The coaster circuit
Big Thunder, Space Mountain, Matterhorn (both tracks)
& Gadgets go coaster.
Timing starts on the first movement
of your first coaster and ends on the last movement of your final
coaster:
- The 'E ticket' Circuit:
1 Compleat circuit of Disneyland on the train
starting any station and finishing at the same station then in any order
complete:
Splash mountain, Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, Indy
adventure, Big thunder railroad, Star tours, Space Mountain, Matterhorn
(1 track) Roger Rabbit, Small World and then finish off on a complete
Monorail circuit.
Start your stop watch the moment the
train starts moving and stop your watch the moment the monorail stops
moving:
- Make up
your own or send in
your times
- Riding roller coasters
See our section on different ways of enjoying the various roller
coaster in Disneyland.
- Still Photography
Disneyland is a beautiful place, well maintained and
fantastic gardens and scenery. Pull out your camera and see what creative
shots you can come up with that are out of the ordinary and no one has
thought of taking.
- Videoing
Try out of the ordinary time-lapse's, documentary's or even
write your own script to play out in Disneyland.
(Disney owns the objects inside the park so you
couldn’t sell them, they'd have to be for personal gratification only.
Don't ruin others experience in your endeavour either.)
- Scrapbooking
Turn your Disney photo collection into a Scrapbooking
experience!
- Art
I don’t know the park regulations but you could try taking
in some art equipment for paintings, drawings or even sculptures to make
while inside. Set up somewhere and my guess is as well as having a great
environment to recreate you’ll also get people talking to you and may even
think you are a Disney employee.

- Cataloguing Attractions
The following are few different ways you can travel through
attractions looking at different aspects of the attractions. There is so
much put into each attraction the this may help you find 'extras' that you
never noticed.
- Reviewer
Comment on each attractions comfort, special effects,
music etc

- Census official
Travel through counting the number of characters
appearances, songs, animals, etc

- Detective
Look for hidden Mickey's, surveillance cameras etc.

- Mapping
Draw out the geographical route a ride takes. Have a look here
for examples.
- Slow Down
A lot of emphasis is placed on the riding or attractions and
beating queues. If you are a frequent visitor, slow down and soak in the
detail of Disneyland. Try looking
listening and smelling every detail of where you are, even if stuck in line.
Disney theme parks are one of the very few parks that can be scoured like
this for scrutiny and remain 'in character'.
- More ideas?
This is a relatively new list so if you have more ideas
for others to try then Send
them to me for review!
